Peacekeeper Challenge

Peacekeeper Challenge was a command level competition designed to test selected Security Policemen in 12 areas. The competition was born out of the need to refine security police combat, marksmanship, tactical and professional skills. The competition included the following events. 

.38 Security Police Course Event - 2 diferent four person fire teams from each team fire the Security Police course of fire in accordance with AFR 50-57. 

M-16 Security Police Course Event  - 2 diferent four person fire teams from each team fire the Security Police course of fire in accordance with AFR 50-57. 

M-60 Machine Gun Event - Objective is to fire Tables I, IV and V of the gunner course in AFR 50-57 for score. The competition is an individual team member event. A second member from the same team may serve as the assistant machine gunner. 

M-203 Grenade Launcher Event - Objective is for an individual team member to fire for score at pont and area targets in accordance with AFR 50-57. 

M-16 Rifle Combat Course Event - Each of the 8 person team members fire for score at timed pop up targets from the prone and foxhole positions in accordance with FM 23.9.  

Combat Patrol Event - Each 8 person command team member to walk individually down a trail and engage a series of timed pop up targets, attempting to hit each target twice while it is in view. 

Tactical Event - Objective is an eight person command team to defend or attain a vital resource (or area) for or within 30 minutes while inflicting the maximum number of casualties on the opposing force which is a command team of four selected personnel. 

Obstacle Course - each 8 person team member must complete the 2.4 kilometer obstacle course in the shortest amount of time.  

MWD Event - Objective is for each MWD team to demonstrate its best performance in a combination of events including obstacle course, obedience, attack, building search and scouting events. 

Accident Investigation Event - Objective is for an individual team member to investigate a vehicle accident within one hour and write the required reports within two hours after the investigation. 

Protection and Prevention Survey Event - Objective is for an individual team member to perform an on-site physical security inspection (using criteria set forth in AFRs 125-37 and 125-17) of a designated facility. prepare a written report, and brief individuals on findings and corrective actions. One hour is allowed for the inspection and two hours for report and briefing preparation. 

Land Navigation Course - Objective is for two team members to negotiate a 2-4 kilometer course using compass heading sand checkpoints in the shortest time.
